What you should know about Radiofrequency lesioning.

RFA uses radio wave-like energy to selectively disrupt the function of nerves that are conveying pain. RFA procedures are also sometimes called radiofrequency neurotomies, radiofrequency lesioning, or radiofrequency rhizotomy or rhizotomies.

Radiofrequency lesioning involves attempting to destroy specific nerves that are conveying pain through the use of radio waves that can selectively destroy nerves at the tip of specific needles placed next to next to the nerves. Radiofrequency lesioning procedures are also sometimes called radiofrequency neurotomies, radiofrequency ablations, or radiofrequency rhizotomy or rhizotomies.
