What you should know about Spinal cord stimulation.

Spinal cord stimulation involves implanting small electrodes into the epidural space in back of the spinal cord to interrupt the transmission of pain signals where they are traveling from the extremities towards the brain. Permanent implanted systems can give dramatic relief of pain arising from a number of conditions including failed back surgery, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, and diabetic neuropathy. These systems can also be used to alleviate pain arising from peripheral nerves including conditions such as headache from occipital neuralgia.
